Project info
If a city could speak from the heart, it would become this book.
This project reimagines Baakline through design, emotion, and storytelling. More than a travel guide, it’s a heartfelt letter from the city to its loved ones, inviting readers to experience the village’s warmth and hospitality.
Design played a central role: the book is crafted as a bundle of letters, packaged in a postman’s bag-inspired box (a nod to old-fashioned messaging and personal connection). Each chapter ends with sentimental souvenirs, deepening the emotional bond, especially with Baakline’s immigrants. Turn a page and discover an embroidered charm. Flip further, and you will be greeted by a treasured Ka’ak El Eid recipe.
As for the reading experience: Inspired by the Hamadeh Castle at Baakline’s heart, the book guides readers through seven chapters, each mirroring a part of the castle and a unique facet of hospitality. The color palette evolves through the seasons, visually echoing the journey from curiosity (autumn) to clarity (summer).
🏆Chosen among 20 entries and awarded a master’s scholarship, this project is a testament to how thoughtful design can transform a city’s spirit into a tangible, moving story.
